  • 2 cups slivered almonds (or other nuts like cashews or pecans)
  • 2 cups packed brown sugar
  • ½ cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Pop the popcorn according to package instructions and place it in a large mixing bowl.
  3. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine butter, brown sugar, corn syrup, and salt. Bring to a boil and cook for 4-5 minutes without stirring.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in baking soda, vanilla extract, and optional cayenne pepper.
