  • ¼ cup (50g) granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • 2 large apples, peeled, cored, and diced (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup (120ml) milk
  • ¼ cup (60g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (120g) powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk for glaze
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract for glaze

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg until combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Stir in the diced apples.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of batter onto the prepared baking sheet with space between each fritter. Bake for 15–18 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. While baking, prepare the glaze by mixing powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  7. Allow fritters to cool slightly on a wire rack before drizzling with glaze.
