- 240 g sour cream (room temperature)
- 60 g vegetable oil (e.g. canola oil)
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 200 g butter (room temperature)
- 280 g powdered sugar
- 30 g dark brown sugar
- 115 g full-fat cream cheese (room temperature)
- 1/2 tsp vanilla bean paste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, ground spices, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
- In another bowl, beat butter with granulated and dark brown sugars until fluffy; add eggs one at a time until well combined.
- Stir in sour cream, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract.
- Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just combined.
