  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • 1/3 cup hot pepper jelly
  • Fresh thyme leaves or chopped parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, beat together cream cheese and butter until smooth. Add shredded cheddar and mix well.
  2. Gradually incorporate flour and seasonings until a dough forms. Chill for 30 minutes wrapped in plastic wrap.
  3. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  4. Roll chilled dough into 1-inch balls and place on prepared baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  5. Press your thumb into the center of each ball to create an indentation and fill with hot pepper jelly.
  6. Bake for 13–15 minutes until golden brown. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
