Ingredients
- 6 oranges
- 3 cups sugar
- 1 2/3 cups water
- Spices (cinnamon, cloves, star anise)
- Your preferred chocolate for dipping
Instructions
- 1. Wash and slice the oranges into 0.3-inch rounds. Optionally, boil them in water for 5-10 minutes to reduce bitterness.
- 2. In a pot, combine sugar, spices, and water. Add orange slices and cook on low heat for about 1.5 hours until translucent.
- 3. Drain excess syrup and place the candied oranges on paper towels to absorb moisture. Arrange them on a baking sheet.
- 4. Preheat the oven to 212°F (100°C) and bake the orange slices for 30 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- 5. Once cooled completely, dip each slice into melted chocolate and place back on the baking sheet lined with parchment paper to set.
