- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch + 2 tablespoons water (slurry for thickening)
- 4 large tortillas or flatbreads
- 1 cup shredded lettuce or cabbage
- 1 carrot, julienned
- ½ cucumber, sliced into matchsticks
- ½ red bell pepper, thinly sliced
- Fresh cilantro or parsley leaves (optional)
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise or yogurt-based sauce (optional spread)
- Sesame seeds or green onions (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the sauce by whisking together hot chili sauce, honey, vinegar, soy sauce, sesame oil, and minced garlic in a small bowl.
- In another bowl, mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sliced chicken with garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and soy sauce. Cook for about 6–8 minutes until browned.
- Pour the prepared sauce over the chicken and let simmer for 2–3 minutes.
- Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook until the sauce thickens.
- While the chicken cooks, prepare vegetables and warm tortillas in a dry pan or microwave.
- Assemble wraps: spread optional mayo on each tortilla and layer with lettuce, veggies, and chicken mixture.
- Roll tightly and slice diagonally to serve.
