- 2–3 Tbsp milk
- ½ tsp vanilla extract

- In another bowl, beat softened butter with granulated sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time and mix in vanilla extract; then alternate adding buttermilk and dry ingredients until just combined.
- For the swirl filling, mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter in a small bowl.
- Layer half the batter in the pan, add dollops of the swirl mixture, then top with remaining batter.
