Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko)
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh mint, chopped
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (for frying)
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt (preferably full-fat)
  • 1/2 cucumber, grated and excess water squeezed out
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, breadcrumbs, red onion, garlic, parsley, mint, oregano, salt, pepper, and egg. Mix until just combined and form into 1-inch meatballs.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook meatballs in batches for 4–5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F).
  3. For the tzatziki sauce: mix Greek yogurt, grated cucumber (drained), garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, dill, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  4. Chill tzatziki for at least 15 minutes before serving with meatballs.
