  • 1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey/chicken)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • ½ cup tomato sauce or salsa
  • 10 taco shells (flour or corn)
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil and sauté the diced onion and minced garlic until fragrant.
  3. Add the ground beef or turkey, breaking it apart as it cooks. Stir in taco seasoning and tomato sauce; season with salt and pepper. Simmer for about 5 minutes.
  4. Fill each taco shell with the meat mixture and top generously with shredded cheese. Place the filled shells standing up in the baking dish.
  5. Bake for 10–15 minutes until cheese is melted and tacos are crispy.
  6. Serve immediately topped with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, red onions, cilantro, and optional sour cream or guacamole.
