Ingredients

  • 2 lb thinly sliced sirloin steak or boneless beef chuck roast
  • 1 cup beef stock
  • 1/2 cup reduced sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 tbsp cornstarch
  • 4 tbsp water
  • 1 bag (12 oz) frozen broccoli florets
  • Cooked white rice (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your ingredients by slicing the beef and mincing the garlic.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine beef stock, soy sauce, brown sugar, and minced garlic. Stir well.
  3. Layer sliced beef in the slow cooker and pour the sauce mixture evenly over it.
  4. Cover and cook on low for about 330 minutes (5.5 hours).
  5. About 30 minutes before serving, mix cornstarch with water and stir into the slow cooker to thicken the sauce.
  6. Add frozen broccoli florets during the last 20-30 minutes of cooking.
  7. Serve hot over cooked white rice if desired.
