  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups high quality chicken/turkey broth
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon butter (softened, for greasing pan)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. Tear or cut the bread into bite-sized pieces and toast in the oven at 250°F for about 1 hour until dry but not browned.
  3. Chop onion and celery; sauté them in butter in a large skillet over medium heat until soft (about 7-10 minutes).
  4. Combine toasted bread with sautéed vegetables and chopped herbs in a mixing bowl.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together chicken broth and eggs; pour over the bread mixture and mix until evenly moistened.
  6. Grease a baking pan with softened butter, transfer the stuffing mixture into it, and spread evenly.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 40 minutes; remove foil for an additional 25-35 minutes until crispy on top.
