- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg, cold
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 4 ounces semi-sweet baking chocolate, chopped
- 1 1/8 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided
- 3/4 cup coarsely chopped walnuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, cake flour, cornstarch, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a stand mixer, cream cold butter with brown and granulated sugars until creamy. Add cold egg and vanilla; mix well.
- Gradually incorporate chopped chocolate, 1 cup of chocolate chips, chopped walnuts (if using), and the dry ingredients until just combined.
