  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 1/2 cups freshly grated sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated smoked gouda cheese

Instructions

  1. Melt 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in 1/4 cup of all-purpose flour until a thick paste forms.
  2. Gradually add 1 cup of whole milk while whisking continuously until the mixture thickens slightly.
  3. Lower the heat and stir in 2/3 cup of wheat beef broth, 2 teaspoons of Worcestershire sauce, 1/2 teaspoon of Dijon mustard, 3/4 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/4 teaspoon onion powder, 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika, and 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt until well combined.
  4. Slowly fold in 1 1/2 cups of freshly grated sharp cheddar cheese and 1/2 cup of grated smoked gouda until melted and smooth.
