  • 30 Oreo cookies (for crust)
  • 5 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
  • 24 oz cream cheese
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1215 Oreo cookies (chopped)
  • 4 oz semi-sweet chocolate (for ganache)
  • 1/2 cup whipping cream
  • additional whipped cream (for decorating)
  • 45 Oreos (chopped or crushed, for decorating)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325F (170C). Wrap a 9-inch springform pan with aluminum foil.
  2. Crush 30 Oreos into fine crumbs; mix with melted butter and press into the bottom of the pan.
  3. Beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Add sour cream, cornstarch, vanilla extract, and eggs one at a time, mixing well.
  4. Fold in chopped Oreos gently and pour mixture over crust.
  5. Bake in a water bath for about 55 minutes until set but slightly jiggly.
  6. Cool in the oven with the door ajar for an hour, then refrigerate for at least four hours.
  7. Prepare ganache by heating whipping cream and stirring in chopped chocolate until smooth; pour over chilled cheesecake before serving.
